Probably not since it's been like forever since I wrote anything but I had 15 minutes to kill so here I am. I'm sure life is much the same since the last time I blogged. Well except Jesse is graduated now and working full time which is great. I love having some extra money for a change. I've also kicked it up a notch so that I'm taking 2 classes a semester now on top of my 40 hour work week. Jesse thinks I'm nuts but I'm bound and determined that I cam going to convocate sometime before I die. If I can squeeze in a Masters as well that would be great. This week however I am kicking back and enjoying the fact that I am done my finals while trying not to stress out too much about Christmas. Somehow my idea of staying in Regina and having a quiet Christmas at home turned into an open invitation for all my friends and relatives to come and have their Christmases at our house instead. Sorry did I say "house" I meant apartment. Small, 2 bedroom, apartment. So this year I am hosting 3 seperate Christmases complete with friends, siblings, parents, neices/nephews, the whole nine yards. Yeesh!
The first one starts this weekend with my family (aka my sister and her husband and kiddos and maybe my Mom), then we're having friends over for Christmas Eve and leading into Christmas Day (when my Mom will join us again) , then on Boxing Day Jesse's family shows up (his parents and brother with his wife and 2 kids) and we do Christmas again (stockings and all) and well as celebebrate Dad's Birthday. However, despite all this I somehow managed to get the whole New Years weekend free and since Jesse works I intend to do nothing but sit at home under the electric blanket I asked for, and drink coffee (maybe from the Tassimo I asked for) and read the books I bought with the gift certificates I asked for. I can't wait.
Wow that turned into a Christmas rant really fast. And now I'm outta time.
Ciao everyone and Merry Christmas. I hope your holidays are going to be more relaxing than mine.

Just A Quickie

Okay, I know I haven't blogged in like FOREVER so I'm going to quickly slam something out while I wait for Jesse to get out of the bathroom.
Not much is new here. Christmas was good but way to busy and stressful. We had Christmas at our house with my family and then went to Calgary for a weeks worth of relatives there too. I was tired when I got back which probably accounts for the bout of Shingles that I got about a week ago. So I got to use up two of my sick days already in the first week of the year.
Other than that it's just school and work. I'm taking another Psyc class at the same time with the same prof as last semester so it's not even like taking a new class, but I got a really good grade last semester so I'm hoping that this class will be another nice little boost to my GPA. Jesse is good and in his pseudo-last semester of University, he'll have a couple of spring/summer classes and then he'll be done. So that's what we're focusing on now (and if anyone else asks when we're moving back to Alberta because Jesse is graduating I'm going to spit on them).
Well he's out of the bathroom now and waiting for me so I gotta go. I hope this little blog satisfies you all for now.
Ciao

Okay so I never said that I was a good blogger. But I still benefit from reading others' blogs so I thought that I should throw you all a bone of info on my life once and awhile. Not that much has been going on. I mean Ken and Kathy just moved 2 provinces away on a whim, Darrell just moved continents, Nikki's busier than 2 of me put together and just broke up with her boyfriend, so compared to that my life seem pretty boring. Work is going well I guess. Things are pretty slow this time of year not not much is going on. I threw my manager in jail today (Jail n' Bail style) so he's busy raising money for cancer right now. That was the excitment for the week work-wise. School is good I have my first midterm tomorrow. It's not going to be hard, it's just a lot of info (you gotta love freshman classes for that). Other than that we got our first Christmas present yesterday! We bought an elliptical that Jesse's parents are going to pay for. Hopefully it will help us get into better shape. I'm also taking an aquafit class with some friends some work which is tons of fun. Watch out by this time next year you won't recognize me I'll be so skinny :). I feel bad asking Jesse's parents to buy us the elliptical though. We would have bought it ourselves except that Student Loans suck and didn't give us any money so we very very broke and not really making ends meet every month. It's going to get pretty interesting when tuition is due next semester. But on a happy note I just found out that Leanne and Andrew are breezing through town on Friday and are going to crash at our house for a night. I'm excited because we never get to see them. We really should make a trip to Winnipeg sometime soon. So the only other thing that's going on besides Thanksgiving (where J is going to make sure I gain back any weight I might have lost) is our anniversary next Tuesday. We can't really afford to do anything but 3 years isn't a huge deal anniversary-wise. I have to work that day so we'll probably just hang out that night.
We'll I hope that this is enough of an update for now. I'll try to keep you all most posted in the future but I'm not guaranteeing anything.
Ciao.

BRACES SUCK!!!

Braces suck! Yes I know that all you out there who have had them are thinking yes they do but it gets better and it's all worth it in the end. Well it's not the end yet and they suck! Can't I be one of those people who says that it doesn't hurt and I can eat everything I ate before. I haven't been able to eat anything harder than Cottage Cheese in 3 days and it's driving me nuts. I tried to eat Sukiaki Beef from Edo Japan today (the best stuff ever) which is basically shredded beef on sticky rice and I couldn't even enjoy it. It hurt to chew (maybe I should've gotten the chicken). So today I'm going to try meatloaf for supper.

Also, I already broken off one bracket and two more are loose. Plus my teeth look worse now than they did when I started. When I went in the Orthodontist tried to floss between my front two teeth and could barely get it in there they were so tight together. Now I have like this huge gap that I can fit my thumbnail in! What's with that! I thought they were supposed to get better not worse. I called her and she said not to worry about and that this was normal but it still sucks.

This better get better. WAY better! And it better be SOOOO worth it. I better look thinner or something when I'm done. Or maybe not being able to eat anything will make me lose weight.
Ask me after my weigh in on Sunday.

Off to eat some (more) yogurt.

Ciao.

The Problem With Blogs

The problem with blogs are that once you don't blog for awhile you are less and less inclined to it because it becomes harder and longer. Like now for instance I haven't blogged in a few weeks I think because I've been so busy but I've been putting it off as well because I've been so busy that there's too much to say and I can't remember what I said before. I also assume that most of you who read this regularly are keeping up with me on facebook and therefore are not checking as often. Though I must say that I'm getting kinda bored of facebook and don't go on there much anymore except to change my status and check to see if anyone wrote on my wall or cast a spell on me or something. So that's the problem with blogs - yet since I'm already writing I might as well give a quick update.

We went camping this weekend which was okay once we got settled but I deem that I shall never plan a camping trip again. First people were coming, then they weren't coming, then they were but they were bringing people, then they weren't, then I booked the wrong spot for them so they cancelled and were going early but they couldn't get a spot so they weren't coming, or they were just going to stay with us in our spot. It was a complete gong show! So in the end after all this the only people who came were Jesse and I, J and Ethan, and my Mom (who stayed in our spot) and then my sister's family drove up during the day to visit. This was WAY less people than were originally coming and we ended paying for 3 reservation fees (besides ours) and one extra spot for one night ourselves because we booked other people's spots on our credit cards and they backed out on us. So this was all frustrating to begin with and I almost decided to cancel the whole thing and go somewhere else by ourselves but we didn't. Then to top it all of when we got there (it was like 5 hours away and I drove my Mom's van with no air conditioning) we realized that we left the cooler at home and had no food. It kinda worked out because everyone else brought WAY too much food and shared but I had a little melt down just then in the middle of a public campground and (I'm told) scared a bunch of little kids with my sailor talk (aka I swore a lot). But in the end it worked out okay. I had to share my hammock a little more than I would have liked and I think Jesse and I argue more than my Mom can handle but then as far as I'm concerned she can get her own camping spot next time.

So that's that. Besides the camping and the fact that we are FINALLY finished moving (not unpacking, just moving) not a whole lot is going on. My birthday is coming up next weekend (on the 18th for all of you want to send presents) and then I get my braces on on the 21st and before we know it it will be September and Jesse will be going back to school full time (which will be kinda nice cause then at least I'll know his schedule but I'll miss having his income). This will be his last first day of school in September for hopefully a long time because he'll be convocating next fall (after one summer class). Then he can work and I can go to school and kick out a couple of babies. Sounds like a plan to me :)

Well that's all I think. I should go back to work. Hopefully I'll blog again soon but maybe not - we'll see.

Ciao

Wow I haven't blogged in so long and so much has happened that I had to go back and read my previous blog so that I knew how to update you all.

My long weekend went well ( I think...I don't really remember) and so did my weekend in Minot with my Mom. We ate wayyyyy to much great food and shopped for clothes. It was fun. But now I'm back to work and focusing on moving. We got the keys on Monday night but I honestly haven't had any time to go over there or start moving since. Jesse did the walk though check with the Manager Lady yesterday so it's officially ours to do what we will with from now on. So tomorrow is going to be a big day of packing and moving. The best part about it being so close is that we can kinda pack and move at the same time. I thought our current apartment was small until I started pulling things out of all the drawers, cupboards, and shelves and started stacking them in boxes out of their nice little hiding places. You can barely breathe in there right now and we've hardly packed anything really. I can't wait to get some of this stuff out. I truly believe that there is nothing more liberating than packing up all your possessions and stripping your living space bare and clean then starting all over. I love the look of an empty room or apartment. It's so freeing.

On a completely different note we went to see the new Harry Potter movie yesterday. It was so good. In some ways I liked it better than the book and that's saying A LOT. You all should definitely go see it. Then tonight my sister, brother-in-law, little brother and Jesse are all going to the football game. I really considered going this time. I just know that the only reason I want to go is to hang with everyone and I have no real interest whatsoever in watching the game which will drive everyone else nuts. So I gave my ticket to my brother. I don't really understand the interest in watching sports. I don't even like playing them that much why would you want to sit for hours and watch them? Though I've never been much of a dancer but I could sit and watch a dance performance for quite awhile. I remember skipping a whole day of class once in High School because they were using the auditorium for the dance school performances and adjudications and I just sat and watched all day. I even watched some dances more than once. I think it has something to do with the music.

Anyways that's about all that's new for now. I guess it's not that much but it sure feels like it.

Ciao

Excited!

Yeah the long weekend is almost here! Only 4.5 more hours of work (5.5 if you count lunch) and I'm home free for 3 days with not much responsibility beyond cleaning my house and waxing my legs. I can't wait.

We almost got the apartment stuff sorted out without much help of the chick who lives there. Basically we just found out what number her apartment was, went to her building, buzzed the manager and asked if we could see the apartment and fill out an application form. It went well I think. We should hopefully hear back today about it. I don't see why we wouldn't get it. We told her we needed to know by Saturday so that we could give our notice at our existing apartment and she said she'd try her best. If we don't hear back today I think we might go in and ask our current landlords what would happen if we gave our notice but then decided not to move. As long as they haven't promised it to someone else I don't see I problem do you? You never know with Boardwalk.

Other than that things are good. I'm been having a few troubles with one of the women at work but I promised Jesse I wouldn't gossip about it and I think it'll all be okay because my supervisor is on my side of things.

I'm really excited to go to Minot next week and at the possibility of moving. I can't wait to have a bigger place. Undoubtedly though you will hear something in the next month about how much moving sucks and I wish I didn't have to do it or at least that I could learn magic or hire Hermione to come and move it with the flick of a wand. That would be nice.

Well that's it. Gotta go. Work to be done.

Ciao.

I'm so excited at the amount of blogging going on lately. Almost every blog that I check on a regular basis has been updated in the past 5 days or so. Maybe we're all getting a little bored of Facebook? I know I kinda am. I mean once you've found all your friends and taken a peek at their pictures and profiles to see what they've been up to what else is there to do? Take quizzes about what cartoon character you are and post it in case somebody else cares? Don't get me wrong I still like facebook but I just can't seem to waste 2 hours a night perusing it anymore.

Besides that...let's see....

Life has calmed down A LOT in the last week. I almost don't know what to do with myself anymore. Though I do spend a chunk of my time trying to keep track of all the eye and dental forms and making sure that they all make it to one or both of Jesse's health coverage companies and then to mine in the proper order. His go to his first and to mine and vice versa. It's alot to keep track of. We had a big presentation at work yesterday because our benefits are improving which is nice. We now all get $500 per year to spend on whatever we want health wise which means laser eye surgery or viagra (that went over big) or things that the existing plan doesn't cover 100%. I think I'm going to use mine to help cover my braces. I have my first ortho appointment next Thursday morning and their going to do molds and stuff. I'm looking forward to getting the ball rolling with this. I'm also looking forward to the long weekend coming and then I'm also taking a long weekend the next weekend to go to Minot with Mom so my next two weeks are looking pretty awesome. I have 3 days of work now and then a 3 day weekend, then three more days of work (one of which will be cut into for my ortho appointment) and then 3 more days off. Pretty sweet eh?

Let's see what else...

I've been going to Curves for about a week and a half now (tonight will be my 6th workout) and I've gained about 2.5 pounds which sucks but it could be muscle and I haven't been eating the healthiest. Overall I'm about 30 pounds heavier than I was at my lowest last summer. I don't know how it happened but I'm working on it.

We are also thinking about moving apartments. Jill has a friend that is moving out of a huge cheap apartment right across the back alley from us so we really want it. It's only 30$ more a month that what we're paying now and it's got a second bedroom and probably twice the square footage. I really want it but Jill's friend keeps "forgetting" to call us and if we don't get this settled by Saturday so that we can give our notice at our apartment them we can't take it. Please pray that she calls us TONIGHT!

School wise Jesse and I finished out French class with flying colours. Jesse got 80% and I got 95%. We're really happy. So now Jesse starts a new Econ class (his new major) next week and I have my application in to Athabasca University. It cost me $265 to apply and to get them to evaluate my transfer credits. This better work out. I just don't think that I'll ever finish my degree trying to pick up evening classes at the University. Now that I have a year round job and can't take summer classes I'll never pick up everything I need. So please pray that I get LOTS of transfer credits.

Well that's about all I think. Either way I should get back to work. Thanks for all the blogs I love hearing what's going on in your lives. Darrell's was really encouraging today you should all read it (just follow the link on left hand side).

Ciao

Can You Spell B...U...S..Y..

It seems that people (or at least the people I know) are not blogging very much anymore, me included... maybe we're all to busy on Facebook.....though really most of the people's blogs who I check regularly aren't the most avid facebookers either...is it possible that you all got real lives outside your computers and left me behind???!!......NAH! :)

So here's the latest update.

Life has been SUPER crazy busy lately! This week was already a full week with doctor's, and eye appointments, dates with Jill to got to Curves, our last French class, and plans to go with Tina (a friend from work) to a play when... we got a message on our machine on Tuesday that Jesse's parents were already on their way to Regina to visit us last minute and they would be here that night! I have one thing to say about this: AHHHHHHHHH! Now don't get me wrong I like Jesse's parents just fine (much more than most people like their in-laws I think) but I was not prepared for this. The house was a DISASTER, I had tons of homework and other plans, this was not a good week. So with a lot of stress, creative planning, and begging receptionists for appointments next week, I managed to work it out so that we actually got to spend some time with Jesse's parents while they are here. Then.... I get a call from my sister and my mom and later my brother-in-law and it turns out that we ARE invited to my sister's big 30th Birthday Bash this weekend in Gull Lake and could we please come. There goes my homework and sleep time for this week! So now right after work today I have to stop at the library (which stupidly closes at 6), meet Jill at Curves at 5:30, work-out for a half hour, rush home, take a shower and change before 6:30 when my Mom comes, go out for dinner with both sets of parents (who haven't met since the wedding), come home and pack for this weekend and set up Mom's bed on out living room floor, go the Relay For Life tonight and watch them light the luminaries (I bought one for my Dad), sleep (maybe), get up and drink much coffee before I jump in Mom's van because we have to be in Gull Lake BEFORE noon (it's about 3 1/2 hours from here) so that I can baby-sit the nephews while everyone else golfs all afternoon (I would golf but I'd rather babysit!) then go to Beth's party, sleep again (hopefully), then get up drive all the way back home so that I can do the mountain of homework and studying that needs to be done before my Final on Tuesday. Then be back at work at 8:00 Monday morning. Man I'm tired already! Next week isn't that much better either because I have my final and now a doctor appointment, eye appointment, AND dentist appointment on top of the First Aid training that I'm taking at work on Monday and Tuesday that apparently has a lot of homework to do on Monday night.

Does anyone wanna trade? Or last least sleep extra for me this weekend and send some energy my way. I'm going to need it! :)

Love you all (well not everyone out there in computer land because there are some creeps out there but the ones I know and love - you know who you are).

Ciao

Camping, Yah!

As promised here are some pictures of our camping trip this weekend.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5069791635861011042" style="DISPLAY: block; Come on people! Ken and Kathy have blogged the most and they were on vacation for like 2 weeks!

Life here is good. Jesse's birthday went well. At the last minute I decided to take the afternoon off and we hung out and went to see Shrek 3 (which was pretty good but not great). We also went and did some shopping with his birthday money and bought a bunch of new camping stuff which has sparked the need to go camping this weekend so off we go tomorrow after work. We got a bunch of great stuff like a 2-person sleeping bag which is HUGE and an air mattress (finally) and a new tent which is really awesome with a screen room attached and enough space to house our new air mattress and huge sleeping bag. I promise to take some pictures and blog them after I get back.

We're also planning a (hopefully) big camping trip for August long weekend at Cypress Hills if anyone wants to come. We want to get a big group and make if fun. Though probably it will only end up being us and J and Ethan.

Other than that Jesse and I also have our French midterm this weekend. It's online and we can write it anytime from Friday morning until Sunday night. Since we're going away I can't decide if I want to write it Friday during my lunch break or on Sunday after we get home. I'll probably write it Friday so that I don't have to worry about it all weekend.

Other than that not much is new in the immediate future. Look back next week for camping pictures.

Ciao

Not Much To Say

It's been a couple of weeks since my last so I thought I would pound something out while I had a few spare minutes at work. Nothing here is too terribly exciting. Jesse and I went to Melville last weekend for mother's day. We had a nice time just hanging out around the fire pit and sitting inside watching movies. We also planted the new rose bushes we bought her and did a little garage sale-ing with my brother. My mom even dragged me to curves with her at like 8 am on Saturday morning. It was kinda fun though.

Other than that it's Jesse's birthday tomorrow. I already bought him his present so that's not too exciting. We'll probably go to Denny's for supper and that's about it.

Work is going good. By job is kinda boring but I like the people and the atmosphere. I got my first paycheck on Tuesday and I have to say that it was NICE! Mayber I really can justify all the new clothes and shoes I bought for this job :)

Well that's all I really have to say - not that I said much. I guess I'm just not in a bloggin mood. Maybe I'll have more to come soon.

Ciao

Why Do I Always Have To Have A Title?

Wow! More than a month since my last blog. You think that being unemployed would give you more time to do things like this but it never really works that way. Now that I'm back at work maybe I'll find more time again. Weird eh?

So yes, I am back at work. I got a job at the Cornwall Centre (for those of you who know regina) and their new Parking Coordinator. It's a brand new position that they've just created. I basically make sure that people are parking where their supposed to and I sign up new monthly parkers and I count parking money. It's all about the parking, really. I started about two weeks ago and so far it's going okay. The pay is decent and the benefits are good. So I'm not complaining.

Other than that my summer plans are to take a class or two (right now I'm signed up for French and English, hahaha)but I may not take them because French is a kinda of stupidly set up online class where you actually have to attend online class! Every Tuesday for two hours be have to hook our mics up to our computers and talk French to each other. How lame is that! My English class actually sound really interesting but I'm not super thrilled at the idea of 3 hour classes two nights a week plus homework while I work full time. I also thinking of switching school. I recently discovered the wonder of Athabasca University and it's online 3-year bachelor degrees. Has anyone heard anything either good or bad about them? Do employers consider these online degrees "real" degrees? I need your opinions everyone.

Back on topic... I also plan to go camping this summer and hopefully take another trip to Minot with my Mom. WE had a blast last year. It's nice to just get away and going to another country makes it more like real vacation. Maybe we'll go July long weekend since it's not a long weekend for them. At least I don't think it is because their 4th of July falls on a Wednesday this year.

Well I should go and maybe actually get some work done now. Seeing as I actually do have work to do. So sorry Ken I can't go to Candy Mountain with you...you go by yourself and let me know how it turns out :)

Ciao

The Lazy Life!

Here I am, 4 days into my freedom. Man days go by fast when you don't have that much to do.

My new laptop came on Monday so I've basically spent the last two days setting things up the way I like them and getting to know Vista - which isn't actually that bad once you get used to it with the exception of a few small things that obviously were not thought through all the way.

In employment news I have a job interview on Thursday! It's at an optometry office downtown - full time. The woman I talked to on the phone sounded really nice so I'm looking forward to the interview. I hope the job pays well enough that I can afford to park downtown.

Tomorrow is going to be a HUGE cleaning day. The whole house is a disaster (it's rather quite disgusting) and there's a ton of laundry to be done so I think I might put on some music or a movie that I've seen a hundred times and actually do things like vaccuum and clean the toilet. But don't hold me to it - I'm not guaranteeing anything (Jesse please disregard this portion if the house is not clean when you get home tomorrow).

Speaking of Jesse I just have to mention how great he has been about me quitting my job. I've been sitting on my butt watching Angel on DVD and playing with the new computer while he works extra shifts and finishes major projects for school. How did I end up with such a great hubby? (I love you Baby!)

Jesse applied for a job at Sasktel and had a phone interview today. He wasn't expecting a phone interview and he was on his cell phone at school at the time with me calling him and his call waiting beeping. He thinks it went okay considering but get this - it's a casual position and they expect you to pick up 100% of the shifts they call you for or else you're fired and they never call you until the day before they need you. How does that work!!! How can you live your life if you never know until the day before if you're working tomorrow and you can't say no if you have plans or an appointment or, heaven forbid, a shift at another job because of course they don't give full time hours (average 24 hours/week). It pays really well and I think Jesse want the job but I don't know how that schedule would work?

On a happier note Easter is coming up here pretty soon - like this weekend I guess. My mom is coming through on Friday and we're going to church and then on Sunday we're having dinner at J and Ethan's (I think they know we're coming - if you guys read this I'm bringing potato salad) other than Jesse is working all weekend, yah for stat pay.

Well I think I've rambled on long enough. All you bloggers should write more often. I need something to keep me entertained. We went like a whole week there where NOBODY on my list of regualrly read blogs wrote anything new. It was quite depressing. I almost thought that the rest of the world ended outside Regina. Okay I'm still rambling so I'm going now for sure.

Ciao

Another Day, Another Dollar

Well here it is Wednesday.

Nothing too exciting happening. It's raining outside which is good becasue it means it's not snowing. My boss didn't show up to work again but I managed to find myself enough stuff to do to keep myself sort of busy. I'm tempted to go home early and say I'm sick. I really don't want to be here.

I didn't do much last night. Jesse went to youth and I washed the new scratchy sheets with vinegar in the wash and a whole dryer sheet. They're a little softer but still not nice by any means.

I'm listening to Eva Avila talk on the radio right now because she's in town for the Juno's (which are actually in Saskatoon). I'd love to go to the Juno's but I'm not up at 6 in the morning to enter the radio contest.

I have a headache. Sorry if I'm kinda random and not making any sense.

Maybe I'll go play canasta on yahoo games for an hour then go home.

2 days left :)

Ciao.

Life Outside Work

So here is some of that promised info about my life that has nothing to do with work.

Just a warning: I have now officially reached the level of boredom where my brain no longer works so you may have to bear with me.

Let's see...

Well to start off with the weather was FANTASTIC here this weekend. I wore my first sandals, drank my first Frappucino (mmmm....Starbucks.....sorry slipped into a coma there for a sec), and drove with the car windows down for the first time this year. It was great. Jesse and I spent most of the weekend hopping around town doing some shopping. We're looking for a new laptop for me (mine is kaput!) and trying to decide if we can justify buying one just because my old one is broken seeing as I don't have a job and I'm not in school anymore. I think we will buy one though because Jesse doesn't like to share his computer (he's a geek you see) and we have a good income tax return coming (we hope). We also bought a few other things this weekend like a new duvet cover and some curtains for the bedroom (that didn't fit so we have to take them back). We tried new sheets last night that we bought ages ago and then tried to return but they wouldn't let us so we kept them, they were so scratchy and uncomfortable that I'm going to wash them tonight and hope that they get better - I may even use fabric softener.

We went to a movie yesterday called Because I Said So - we went to see it because the guy on Canada AM gave it negative 3 stars and I just had to see what was so bad about it because it looked okay to me. I watched it and thought it was fine - not great but a solid chick movie, Jesse thought it as too over the top. Maybe I won't listen to the Canada AM guy anymore.

On a future kind of note we got a message today from J and we're supposedly doing a potluck thing at her and Ethan's on Friday along with Jill and Jordon (which is a miracle in itself seeing as we haven't see hide nor hair of them since they got married). It sounds fun but squishy - not a lot of space there, we should really be doing it at Jill and Jordon's.

In the further future is Easter coming up, hopefully Jesse will get a lot of hours that weekend seeing as we're not going anywhere or doing anything besides maybe J and Ethan's again. Then on Easter Monday is my nephew's B-Day party in the park which should be fun. Then (as long as I don't have a job by then) we're going out to Calgary for 5 days to a week leaving sometime that week maybe the 14th or 15th of April. Jesse's parents are so nuts excited to see us. It will be good. Jesse's Dad (Ben not Dave his "real" Dad)said he might take us to Rosebud for dinner theatre and he definitely promised me a trip to Olive Garden which is my most favorite restaurant of all time.

Well the phone just rang and now I actually have some work to do so I may as well go do it. Talk to you all later :)

Ciao

Almost 6 Down...4 To Go

So here it is, Monday of the last week of my job.
I'm happy because I don't want to be here (yes "here" - I am blogging from work again today) but I'm also feeling a little bit guilty because jobs are one of those necessities of life that not too many people enjoy but they do them anyways. Maybe I should have stuck with it. Then again I am having a better than average day at work today because I here all by myself and will be again tomorrow. It takes the edge off and makes the day more stress free. On Friday I would have given all of my hair not to be here. It was the Region 9 festival on Friday (and Saturday for that matter but I wasn't here) and it was stressful because it was the Middle Years Festival a month and a half ago that caused my boss to go all schizo on me and make a dream job a hellish wasteland. Also I went through the whole day wondering where I was supposed to be and what was expected of me because technically we were not hosting it and therefore should not have had much to do with it. It's also really weird because Darlene has been treating me A LOT better since I quit. I don't know if it's becasue things have slowed down or because Jean is no longer here to be best friends with or because she's happy that she finally got rid of me as an employee and so she really doesn't care about what I do anymore but all of a sudden everything is happy-go-lucky with her and I'm her new best chum. I am SO not comfortable with that. I don't want to let my guard down just that she can go in for the kill - it's a classic war tactic. I just never know where I stand with her and it's frustrating - but should I care this much? I mean she's just my boss but also my only collegue and I have to spend all my time with her.

Whatever!

There I've stopped caring (I hope)!

Perhaps I'll blog later with news about the other parts of my life like how NICE the weather is and our upcoming trip to Calgary (assuming I don't get another job before then).

Ciao everyone!

Elaboration

I only have a few minutes but some of you have been asking questions so I thought I would elaborate on my last blog (did you like the music? - I love having a geek for a husband).

Yes, I quit my job.
No, my boss is not actually dead (but one can hope).
No, I'm not actually finished - I have 2 weeks yet, I wanted to see this job through until the end of festival and have enough time to rack up a few more bucks on my health coverage.

That's about the gist of it - I just feel so free!
I just need to find another job now :)

Ciao

I QUIT!!!!!!

I QUIT! Have you ever had to spent all day every day stuck in a room alone with someone who hates you but you have to be nice and do whatever they say anyways? That's my life everyday. It should be considered some form of heinous Chinese torture or something. I would have quit ages ago except we need the money and I'm too chicken to quit. You see the bad part about quitting is the actual quitting part - going up to them and saying "I'm done and I'm leaving you to do this all by yourself" except you're not done, you have to give 2 weeks notice and then continue going to work everyday with someone who hates you even more now. What are rules about that? What difference is it going to make if I just walk out and don't come back? Who invented the concept of two weeks notice anyways? Especially if I don't intend on getting a reference from this woman anyways? Also how does unemployment insurance work? Can I get it if I quit? Any suggestions anybody? Jesse said that if I stick it out until the end of May (when I'll be laid off) then I can go on EI and take the summer off. I just don't know if I can last that long.
Sorry for another negative blog - my blogs are either short and sucky or ranty and negative. But I love you guys and my life really isn't all that bad. You all should come to Regina to visit and make me feel better. Sound good right? Alright see ya in a couple week then :)
Okay I'm going back to work now. At least the boss isn't here - she's gone to a "meeting"....man do I sound as synical to you as I do in my head? I gotta go. So here's just a quick one before I break for lunch. Work is work - yes I'm still here but looking elsewhere. Life is pretty good otherwise. Jesse is writing his midterms today so he's been a study-holic lately. We went to Edmonton for my dad's internment which went well but if any of you ever have to plan a funeral DO NOT do two of them a month apart (it just brings everything back up again and it's kinda weird). My Mom is in town for the next couple of days with work and staying at the Delta (yah watersliding) so hopefully I'll be able to her her a bit over the next few days. Sorry this post sucks but I don't feel comfortable writing anything good at work. So I gotta go. I'd love to hear from you all. "IF YOU BUG ME....I WILL BLOG!" My boss strolls through the door sometime between 9:30 and 10:00 and doesn't say a word to me and starts doing other things. Around 10:30 she gets up and asks me to come talk with her. We go into another room and she sits me down and reems me out for about another half an hour brining up every typo and mistake that I've ever made since I started working there, calls me lazy and sloppy and basically tells me that the Board members wanted to fire me. However she says that she is "graciously" giving me another chance but that I have to pull me act together and prove that I deserve to be there. This means that everday I have to write down everything I do - every fax I send, every phone call I take, how many times I go to the bathroom and sign it at the end of the day to prove that I'm doing a full day's work. So basically I'm working in the land of double standards and while she and Jean sit around all day talking and come in an hour late and leave an hour early I have to "prove I deserve to be there" by accounting for everything I do and clocking in and out at 9 and 5. I no this doesn't sound that bad - it's kinda like every other job but it's the principle of the thing. I mean the hypocrisy is so thick in the room I can see my breath and I hate working everyday with someone who is just using every opportunity to exert their power over me and make me feel worthless. So here I am. I'm still working there but one more thing happens and I'm ready to walk right out the door and not look back. I'm also looking for a new job in the meantime - I'd really love to quit the week before Festivals and leave them hanging. See this is the irony of it all - now that she's treated me like this I feel less inclined to work hard, yes maybe I'm working more but I'm not trying as hard and I'm totally resisting the urge to sabotage things on purpose. I'd love to just dump the filing cabinet all over the floor and walk out the door laughing or start shelving books in the wrong spots (they'd never find them), or call an adjudicator and tell them that Festival is cancelled and then watch them not show up. But God has been pushing me really hard to be a better person than that. If I stoop to her level of malice then I'm not better than she is so I might as well just stay there and join the club. It's the fact that I can be a better person than she is that makes me so angry about the whole thing in the first place.

Well that was a lot of rambling but I know some of you wanted to know how it turned out. If it doesn't make sense then join the club - my brain is one big jumble of shock, hurt, insults, and anger right now. If you have any advice I'd love to hear it. I just wish that I had the job that I had 2 weeks ago.

That's all for now.

Ciao

Life Sucks Today

So I am officially having one of the worst months EVER!
If you read my previous blog you already know that my Dad passed away very suddenly a few weeks ago. As far as that goes everything is going okay. The internment is this weekend at Rundle Mission, AB so we're leaving on Saturday and coming back on Monday (talk to about a quick trip). So if that wasn't bad enough I think I may have almost gotten fired today... yep fired....from my great job that I loved. But I don't know yet for sure I have to go back in tomorrow. Here's what happened:

This past weekend was your first ever Middle Years Festival which was a really big deal for us. We had eveyone we know come and help out including our husbands. So while Jesse was here (and not doing much I must add because we had WAY too may people) he decided to take a look at my computer because it had been running rather slow. I mistakenly thought this would not be a problem becasue my boss has her entire extended family on the office computers all the time. Well apparently it was a problem because when I got to work this morning I got totally reemed out for him being on there. Apparently she thinks that he installed new RAM on it (which he DID NOT) without authorization and when I told her that he didn't she basically called me a liar, told me to go home and get my story straight with my husband, and then to come back tomorrow. After I left I called Jesse on his cell and he called her to apologize and assure her that he did not put anything on or in the computer he just messed with some of the settings and she called him a liar and hung up on him. So now I have to go to work tomorrow morning and face this. I'm pretty sure that if I don't walk in there admitting to everything she accused us of then I'll be fired. But I refuse to comprimise myself by lying and telling her what she wants to hear. The thing is can she fire me for something she thinks Jesse did? She invited him to come volunteer and he messed around on the computer - I wasn't even in the room for most of it. Can she blame me for what she thinks he did? I'm really angry right now. I'm not even sure that I want to stay working there even if she doesn't fire me - I've had all day to sit a stew about this it's making me really mad.

So that was my day - Oh yah.. and I got a wisdom tooth pulled this afternoon so now I'm all swollen and numb and frozen and it really sucks. Anybody wanna trade right now?

Why are my blogs always so negative. I'll try to say soemthing happy next time - unless of course I do get fired in which case I'll say something happy two times from now.

Ciao

My Dad

Hi everyone!

However hard this is for me I thought I would write a blog to let everyone know why it seems that I've fallen off of the face of the earth for the last few weeks. You guys probably didn't notice since it's not unusual for me to go a few weeks without blogging and I'm sure you all don't just sit home waiting for my next post. But it sure feels to me that I've fallen off of the face of the earth. You see... My Dad passed away on January 19th.

It all happened so fast really. About two weeks before that he went into the hospital because he wasn't feeling well - originally he thought he had the flu. The kept him for a couple of day and did some test and ultimately decided it was cancer - of the kidneys and maybe more. They sent him home to wait until he could get in to the cancer clinic (which usually takes a couple of weeks I guess). We went home for that weekend and saw him (he looked sick and weak but not THAT bad). Then on the monday Mom took him back to the hospital becasue she didn't think he was eating enough. Tuesday night Mom calls me as says that Dad had a bad night and the we should come see him - but I said that we couldn't come until the weekend because we had school and work and that cancer lasts a long time and we could keep running home every time he has a bad night. Then at work on Wednesday morning my sister calls me and says that she comig through town and she's going to pick me up because the nurses said that we should come see Dad. So I went but Jesse stayed home. By the time we got there we has so sick and so weak that he could barely talk. He had lost so much weight and they had tubes sticking out of him eveywhere. It was horrible. So as it goes he got worse so fast that on Thursday his kidney's started failing and by 9:30 on Friday morning he had passed away.

It's all happened so fast that I'm not sure that it has fully registered yet. The funeral was last wednesday. And we're taking his ashes to Alberta to bury them on Feb. 18th.

My boss just came in so I should go to work now. I'm sure I'll more to say later. I just wanted to share what was going on in my life.

Ciao

So much time - so few blogs

Hi out there in blogger world! It's been awhile. I'd like to say that I've been too busy to blog but that you be a lie - I'm too lazy. My Chistmas went well. The whole family was at my parents' for 3 whole days which was nice because usually either my sister's family or Jesse and I have some other family to rush off to and we're lucky if we all get a day together but this year it worked out well for everyone so we got to actually spend some time. My nephews are now just getting old enough that Christmas is a lot of fun. Santa brought them hot wheels this year and they LOVED it! We had a good time (despite my allergies which always bother me at my parents' house)

We came home on boxing day because Jesse had to work (yah for extra shifts on Christmas break) and so I had a whole week at home after Christmas with absolutely nothing to do before I had to come back to work. It was GREAT! I sat around and did nothing, watched tv, played GameCube (I bought Jesse Paper Mario for Christmas and I've become obsessed with it, we've banked about 30 hours of playing time since the 27th and we've almost passed the game). I felt so relaxed when it was timeto come back to work Wednesday it was really nice. But now I'm back and things are starting to get back to normal. Jesse and I both start class again on Tuesday and then Jesse has youth that night (I'm not doing it becasue my night class is on tuesdays this semester and they have lots of help so I'm not worried about it). I've also been going to the dentist (I got three fillings yesterday on top of the three I got before Christmas) now all I need is a wisdom tooth pulled on teh 20th before I go to the orthodobntist (dundundun). Jesse parents have VERY nicely agreed to lend/give us the money so that I can finally get braces (my health plan covers half). I'm kinda nervous about it.

I kinda have the feeling that I've blogged about some of this before. Maybe I should go back and read what I've written. Either way this is updated.

So that's about it. After the orthodontist I plan to go for a new eye exam so that I can get some contacts again (I don't want to be the geek with glasses AND braces) :)
Jesse needs new contacts too so maybe that's what all the extra money for his working over the break will buy - or maybe it should pay some tuition? Nah!

Well it's 10 after 4 and I should go home. After all I'm only paid until 5:00. :) I love my job!

Ciao

Okay this blog doesn't have a title. Well at least it doesn't yet, I may think of one while I'm typing but so I far I haven't decided what I'm going to write about and nobody pays attention to the titles anyways so I'm going to move on...

Today is December 15th and life is pretty good. My class is done for the semester (I wrote my Final on Monday) and I think I did okay on it (not great but in that 75-80% range that isn't really up to my standard but usually gets people angry at me when I say that I think that that's a bad grade). I'm just happy that it's done. My last day of work before Christmas is next Thursday and then I don't have to be back until probably the 3rd (maybe even the 8th) and the best part is that I get payed the whole time! Today I'm at work by myself (my boss took the day off to go Christmas shopping, I wish I could do that? What does she do ont he weekends?!) so I can slack off a little - well a lot -I have so stuff to do but nothing that's going to take me 8 hours for sure so I'll probably leave at about 3-3:30. Tonight Jesse and I are going to the expensive theatre to see Eragon. The review I heard on it wasn't that great (he called it "Lord of the Rings Light") but the book was FANTASTIC (the reviewer didnt' even know it was a Trilogy) and what does he know anyway he liked that new Mel Gibson movie about that Tribe that kills each other! I also want to see the new Will Smith movie so maybe we'll see that instead I haven't really decided. Either way we're going out and we're having popcorn and the whole nine yards because we're done Finals and we got paid today! Then tomorrow we're going to spend the 4 hours at BestBuy because we're getting our car starter installed. I hope they don't take any longer than that but we can wander around and go for lunch and stuff. It'll be good.

On the dentist front I was there on Tuesday and got 3 fillings done and they finished my cleaning. I have to go back next Thursday for 3 more fillings (I have an appointment anyway but I may have to cancel so that I can drive Jill to the bus depot) and I still have a wisdom tooth that needs extracting. They're really pushing me to get braces but I don't think that we can afford them (my insurance only covers half - does anyone know how much they cost?) and it will cost me money just to get the assessment done to see what I need. Anybody want to lendmoney to a poor girl with crooked teeth? (just kidding..unless.... ;) )

So that's about it I think. This post is getting pretty long and you're probably doen reading anyway. Thanks to everyone who sent Christmas cards - and especially to Ken and Kathy for including a nice letter type update. I should have done that. Anyways gotta go pretend I'm working.

Ciao

Dentist Part 2

Okay so I went to the dentist on tuesday. I went okay except that the two of the three reasons I picked this dentist went out the window. First it's close to home (which it stil is), second I picked it because they do direct billing, and third I picked it because they have an orthodontist. Well it turns out they don't do direct billing anymore (some sort of lame privacy issue) what they will do is electronically submit your forms so that you get your money faster but you still have to pay upfront (yah for credit cards) but since I got a new dentist (who was really nice by the way) his electronic submission thingy isn't set up yet so I have to mail the forms in myself anyways. Then we we started talking about my orthodontia (sp?) it turns out that the orthodontist is not at their office but at their office at Normanview mall (now for those of you who know Regina that's about as far from the Southland Mall, where my dentist is, as you can get) so I'm kinda miffed. But before I can even consider affording my braces (of which I will have to pay half) I need 6 fillings and my last wisdom tooth out. So that's my dentisting experience. Oh yah and they were not impressed with my lack of flossing which totally made my gums bleed when I did my cleaning and now I have to go back to finish my cleaning because she couldn't finish with my gums all puffy and sore. So yah that's about it. I have a busy weekend this weekend. Maybe I'll write more about it later.

Ciao

Dentist

I have a dentist appointment this afternoon. Class is almost over (only 2 more and a final) and my prof pushed back the due date for my paper so I'm really happy. I've registered for class for next semester - Sociology of Gender (does that sound good to anyone else?) but it's on tuesdays so that means that I have to drop youth, I'm kinda sad about it but I'm kinda not. My heart just isn't in it this year and they have lots of help so they don't really need me. It's also the fact that I'm finding it hard to find the energy to do full time work plus school let alone youth and young marrieds, and maybe some workout time. I don't knwo maybe I'm just lazy but I really need my at home time watching tv or reading or I tend to get really stressed.

On the good front I'm really looking forward to Christmas. I've finished all of my shopping and now we still just need to order Christmas cards and set up the tree. We're going to my parents' this year. None of this trapsing all over Alberta trying to see all of the extended family. It's not happening. Maybe next year :P

Well that's about it I think. I'm hungry and I want to go for lunch. I hope this blog satisfies you for now.

Ciao

2 1/2 Weeks

Wow, it's been 2 and a half weeks since I last blogged! I can't believe how busy it's been. It's wasn't even the kind of two and a half weeks where I was like "oh yah I should blog today...well maybe tomorrow" it was the kind of two and a half weeks where I was on my computer today and I was like "oh yah...blogs...what are those again?". I have to admit that I haven't even been reading them let alone writing. Sorry Nix...there's just no way I'm going to be able to go back and read everything you've written, that would take me another two weeks.

But other than that I've been bust I've been good.

We've finally dealt with the whole car situation. We were driving home last monday after Jesse picked me up from class and our car died half a block from the apartment (this is still the old car, we had been waiting like 4 weeks for our optra to come in). Great! we thought. If we had just bought a car a month ago this would be someone else's problem. So we called to dealer and complained that we no longer had a car and we've been waiting forever so he got us a courtesy car for absolutely free which was great! Then last weekend Jesse's parents came to visit before his dad started his new job (contract work, yah money!) and they managed to get the old car running just in time for the new car to come in on monday. So we bought our new car on tuesday and gave them back theirs. It was a good deal. Now we have a new car. Yah! I'll try to take some pictures and post them sometime this week. It's a silver optra LS and we really like it, though we also REALLY liked the Cobalt we had to make a choice and we chose OPTRA.

So now that that's done we have to drive the old car up to Melville this weekend so that my dad can sell it for us (we'll get way more for it in Melville than in Regina). We're only going for one day though because I have a 10 page paper to start, and a 4 page paper to re-write, due in 3 weeks but we also have Youth Retreat at the church next weekend. Crazy! I don't know how people manage to work full time and go to school full time and so other stuff like church. I couldn't do it. That's a fact.

So that's all I can think of right now. There's probably more. Important stuff even but I can't think of it right now. So I'm signing off.

Ciao everyone, I miss you all! (because none of my regina friends read this just my really great out of town friends like Ken and Kathy, Nicole, and Kris and Sharkey - I love you guys, please keep reading because I write this for you!)

Just A Short Update

So life has been busy. I guess you all are wondering if I disappeared. Well...probably not since it's not unusual for me to go awhile between blogs it just seems to me that I haven't done it in forever.
Thanksgiving was good. We went to my parents and ate way too much food for three days. The whole family was there which hasn't happened since Thanksgiving last year so it was nice and we got to play a lot of Scene-It which always goes over well.
Then monday was our 2 year anniversary. Jesse worked all day then we went to a good retaurant but had a horrible waitress which made it sucky and we'll probably never go back. So all in all our anniversay wasn't fantastic but year number 2 isn't a landmark or anything so I'm sure we'll get over it. Other than that not a lot is new. Just work (or lack thereof since we're really slow) and school (I have a paper due monday which I just might do here at work if I don't find anything else to do tomorrow).
So that's it. Sorry for the boring blog. I guess I'm tired and hungry which tends to cut down on my verbosity (is that a word?). I'll do better later I promise. Have a good day everyone.
Ciao

Whew!..What a Week!

I cannot believe it is Friday already! This has been such an exhausting week. Moday I had a SIAST class all day to learn how to use Excel, then we went and looked at cars, then I had a 4 hour university class in the evening. Tueday I had Excel class again, then more car looking, then Youth in the evening. Wednesday I worked all day then I had to come home and get some stuff together and return some library books and quickly cook dinner before I picked up Jesse from work. I got home at 7, ate and then basically collapsed. Yesterday I worked and then we looked at cars AGAIN and then we had Young Marrieds, then we went grocery shopping and didn't get home until 9:30 and then collapsed in bed again. Then today I work (the president of our board is in all day), then tonight I have to go home and clean like a maniac (hopefully Jesse will have some done but he's sick today) because Leanne and Andrew are staying at our house this weekend. Tomorrow I have a Board Meeting all day and then a wedding to go to in the evening (and a potential girls night after that with Leanne and Jill). Then, on Sunday I have more Board meeting (hopefully only until lunch time) and I have homework to do for my class on monday. All the while Leanne and Andrew are still here until Monday morning. Anyone wanna trade weeks? ... Please?

The car search front has been fairly stressful. We've kinda decided what we want, the problem is that our first choice of car is at a dealer that we DO NOT want to buy from. Our second choice is still good and we love the dealer but do we hold out for our first choice? Now the good dealer is trying to get us one of the cars that we want but it might be 3 weeks before he can get one and by then car choice #2 might have been boughten by someone else. What would you do? I need advice here people. Keep in mind that the car we're driving is slowly deteriorating and we need to make a road trip to Melville at Thanksgiving. Also how important should colour be when buying a new car. I think it's important but dealers keep looking at me funny when I say I do want a car because I don't like the colour. I don't know. Too much stress. Jesse thinks we're rushing into this, but I think that when you're buying used you have either buy it if you like it or look for something else because otherwise it'll be gone. Am I right or wrong? Please give me feedback. That's all for today.

Ciao

PS: Thanks to Ken for sending me warm fuzzies last week when I was sick. I really needed them and they made my day :)

Getting Sick

I'm getting sick and it sucks. You know that first sick day where your alarm goes off and you just can't seem to get out of bed for some reason and then you try to swallow and you realize that your throat is all dry and ucky and hurty. That was my morning this morning. I had a shower hoping that it would make me feel better but I'm not sure it did. So I drank some orange juice, popped some cold FX and spritzed a little throat spray and here I am at work with nothing to do. My boss hasn't showed up yet, if she's not here by noon I'm going home to sleep. It's not like I'm doing much here.
So besides being sick Jesse and I are currently tryign to make a big life decision. It turns out that our poor little car has suddenly become a junker. We figure that if we fix everything that's wrong with it it'll cost us about $3000, if we fix just what needs to be fixed for the sucker to run comfortably and safely in the winer (ie. decent tires, block heater, blower motor, and new springs) probably about $2000. The thing is that the stupid car is worth maybe on $2000, maybe less with all this stuff not working. So what do we do? Do we run it into the ground and hope we don't die when the tires blow on the highway, or do we sell it and buy a new car or a new used car, or do we buy new car and keep this one as a second car that we'll surely need if we ever get a house becasue we can't afford a house where we live now. But if we buy a new car can we afford a house?
That is my dilemma for today. Advice please. GTG now.
Ciao

Hmmm Skittles (not so good)

Hello out there all you in blogger land. Here I am at work and my boss is gone for lunch (note the time) so I thought I'd sorely ignore what little work I actually have today and blog a bit for your reading enjoyment. Work hasn't been too bad today. I actually had somthing to do for most of the morning and seeing as I found something for myself to do yesterday and then left at 4 (as opposed to 5) and still got paid I'm in good working spirits.
We had our first jr. youth night of the year yesterday. They changed it to tuesday nights this year so that it was on the same night as the sr. youth and it seems to be working out okay. We had a huge dodge ball game sr's agains jr's to win a case of coke that we actually stole from them and we totally kicked their butts. It was great but I don't think we kept the coke, whatever, it was a good night. My group of girls is small (only 3 so far) and I'll be sharing them with another leader, Sarah, who still in grade 12 so I'll be mentoring her a bit. It was so much fun though. Our game for the year is going to be The Mole (do any of you remember that show?) where the team works together to make points/money and one member is the mole who trying to mess up their chances. I think it's going to be great, but sadly I am not the mole (but don't tell my youth that as far they're concerned I am the mole and I'm not changing my story). Also I finally convinced Jesse to come with me. He was kinda nervous but after being there awhile he loved it and now he's committed to every week and is getting a small group of his own. Last year I kinda enjoyed having an evening without Jesse but this year I'm taking an evening class so I still get a night to myself.
Tonight Jesse works one of his last evening shift with the health district so J and Jill and I are having a GNO (minus the air bands for all you CBC girls). I'm not sure what we're doing yet all I know is that I got a message from Jill last night saying that they're showing up at my place at 7. I guess I should figure out if I'm supposed to eat supper first or not. We're oh so organized. Maybe I'll look up what movies are playing?
I'm eating skittles right now. Actually I'm scarfing skittles right now because I'm typing and I'm not paying attention to how many I'm eating. However my enjoyment of them is stinted by the fact that they have new flavours in them (you know the commercial with the ugly guy on the island and the geeky kid who sticks his head through the rainbow - "three new flavours") anyways one of these flavours is banana and I hate banana flavour. Real banana's are okay but fake banana flavour is gross. Also there's another flavour that tastes like that bad lip gloss that you get free with certain Barbies. I may have stop eating the blue skittles, it is a sad day in Jordan world. Anyways I should go in case my boss comes back soon. Talk to you all later.
Ciao

What Can I Say, I'm Addicted

So it turns out that I am physically unable to not go to school. Two weeks into working full time I decide "maybe I could squeeze in a night class?". So here I am registred for a class at the university on monday nights. If I take one night class a semester and 3 classes every summer then I can graduate with my bachelors in 2012. Sounds good right? Only time will tell if I'm addicted enough to school to last that long. So the class I'm taking now is a thrid level English class on short stories. Now I've never much liked short stories but I love English classes and am thinking of switching my major to English. Right now I'm majoring in Psychology with a double minor in sociology and religious studies. However since I don't really want to be a Psychologist, and it's really not a teachable major if I ever want to go back into Education, I think I may switch to English though I haven't decided what to minor in yet. I don't have to minor in anything, but if I don't I have so many open electives it seems kinda stupid. Though if I am solely relying on what classes they offer in the evenings and summer then I might need the electives. Either way I am taking classes and resigned myself to the fact that even thought I HATE this university, I need it and it's better than SIAST (that's for sure). My need for schooling and the fact that I have a severe dislike for both semi-credible post-secondary institutions in this city don't really mesh well, so I have to conceed myself one way or another and since boycotting doesn't hurt anyone but me...here I am.
So that's about it. I mean there's more but I don't have to tell you people everything do I? At least not all at once right? Maybe more tonight or tomorrow. It's hard to say since I'll be feeding my starving student of a brother tonight and I'll either be otherwise occupied or bored out of my skull at the amount of computer talk and videogaming bouncing around the room. Either way more eventually.
Ciao

Good pants day

My whole life I have HATED shopping for pants. A lot of plus sized pants are high waisted, tapered legged, have no pockets are not really designed for any human shaped person to wear. I hate going to wal-mart and choosing the only pair of half-decent jeans in the store only to find that the size you think you should be is way too small, it's just not making over your butt and don't even think about zipping it, and you end up walking out of the store with a size 21. That's the last size of pants I bought at Wal-mart.

Today however was my best pants shopping experience EVER! Imagine my surprise when I walked into Reitmans to look at pants and find several pairs that a normal person might like to wear. Then after picking up a few different pairs in a size 18 (the size I always liked to think that I was no matter how much weight I'd gained) and trying them on, realizing that they are all TOO BIG!!! That's never happened to me before. Ecstatic almost beyond belief I left the dressing room to find SMALLER SIZES!!!! Returning with 3 pairs of size 16's I took the leap and tried them on. zzzzzip! They fit! And they look good! I can't believe it. I bought two pairs. I haven't wore a size 16 since jr.high. That was 10 years ago!

I have to say that today I enjoyed pants shopping for the first time in a long time. It was a good pants day. I just hope they still fit tomorrow :)

Ciao

ahhh scrapbooking!

Shalom Everyone! I don't know why I just said Shalom, it seemed like a good thing at a time. So how's my life lately? Work is going fantastic! Though sometimes I wonder if Darlene and I are going to get sick of each other by the end of the year being the year being the only two people in the office and she is really messy and disorganized which is really one of my pet peeves, but she's the boss so I can't very well be going through her papers and stuff throwing out what she doesn't need and making to do lists for her. (Can I?) They also haven't delivered my new chair yet though they said it would be there on Wednesday. It better be there bright and early Tuesday morning or else! Friday night we hung out with J and Ethan which usually means Jesse and Ethan play on the computer and J and I complain about stuff, I really don't know if it's healthy? Oh well, we are in a rut. Then Saturday we went shopping with them in the morning to Michael's and Costco and stuff and then J and I scrapbooked for awhile after Jesse went to work and Ethan went home to play on his computer (can we say obsessive compulsive :), both me with my scrapbooking and Ethan with his computer). Then my brother and mom showed up becasue they were moving him into the dorms yesterday. So I went to dinner with them and then shopping for dorm stuff (it's always so hard to think of everything you'll need before you move in). The dorms are nice but they're small and he's way over paying but he refuses to ever take the bus so that's what he's stuck with (good luck finding a job with in walking distance, Kris). Then I came home and scrapbooked some more last night. I'm doing the wedding stuff and I want all the pages to match so that it's a cohesive album but I'm starting to get sick of the same papers and ribbons on every page. Oh well, it'll go by faster now that I'm into the swing of it, I hope. That's about it. Today we have to clean the house and help my brother with his computer and maybe go to church though I don't really want to. I'm a bad church goer I have to admit. The only reason I want to go is to tithe. We'll see what happens.

Ciao

Kt Tunstall - Black Horse And The Cherry Tree

Here's a video for you all. I've been super busy but I just wanted to update you all while I wa thinking about it. My day with my Dad and my weekend with my sister went well. Dad bought me scrapbooking stuff for my birthday which I promptly took to my sister's and we spend hours working together on out respective scrapbooks. Her's is really cute. It's a litle 8x8 that folds in from both sides and she doing a "what we love about summer" theme with pictures of her, Jeff, and the two boys (who are 3 and 4). It's turning out really well. I also got 3 pages done,it just takes so long that I really have to wait until Saturday to keep working on it. Other than that I started work yesterday. It's really great with a relaxed atmosphere that I feel I'm working with somebody instead of for them which is really nice sometimes. I can feel ownership for what needs to be done which gives me more motivation to do it. I also get a new office chair which is coming tomorrow or Thursday (nice with a high back and armrests and tilt and fancy stuff) and I get a new organizer with cool colored paper that I picked out of a catalogue. I love my new job. Thank you Father God for giving it to me.

Tonight I went to a movie with my Mom who showed up mysteriously on my doorstep around six because she was passing through town. So that was unexpected and nice. We saw X-Men 3 (I had seen it already but it's still good the second time - I can't wait for the DVD box set). So that's about it I think, in the Reader's Digest condensed sort of way. I saw this really awesome commercial on my friend Ken's blog today but I'm too lazy to figure out how to post it myself so if you want to see it you'll have to go there yourself. kenny-p.blogspot.com (it's also one of the links directly to the left and slightly up from here). If you go you can also see pictures of his new puppy and kitchen. I love pictures on blogs. And because I do here are a few of my birthday to amuse you.

Ciao

The pictures I promised

Hi everyone so here are the pictures I promised. Like I said they aren't very good ones and most of you will think I don't look much different, but I bet that I weight more than most of you think, so there you go.

This is a picture of me at my sister's at Christmas this past year

This is a picture of me last week at my birthday with my new carpet sweeper

I haven't weighed in in a couple weeks but last time I checked I was sitting at a loss of 37 pounds. My goal is to lose a total of 60 this year. I don't know if it'll happen but I'll keep trying. It'll be easier once I start working again I hope. Really I have to start working out again but I lost my free gym priveledges when school ended so that might not work, we'll see. Maybe I'll join Curves. Does anyone know how much it costs?

So that's it for today I think. I have lots to do before we leave town tomorrow and Jesse is home sick today which makes it harder. Talk to all soon and thanks for commenting
Ciao

My new look

Hey everyone,
Do you like my new look for my blog. I figured it was time to update to something a little bit less pink and since I am completely blog illiterate I just switched to a new template right in blogger. I envy those of who who have figured out how to create your own or play with the ones you find. But I think this for now, we'll see how long it stays.
So today was a pretty boring day for me. I am soooo ready to go to work. The apartment is drivign me nuts and it seems that everytime I leave the house I spend money I don't have because I'm not making any. It'll be nice to work. Tomorrow is really my last official I-stay-home-and-do-nothing day. Friday I have to drop Jesse off at the airport (he's going to Red Deer to visit his dad, don't ask me why but is dad bought the ticket), then I have to go to work to fill out some forms, then I'm having lunch with my dad and possibly my brother who will be in town, we're going to use the handy-dandy mini-van to pick up my new dresser, then I'm driving all the way to Gull Lake, SK (that's near Swift Current for all you big city folks) for the weekend to hang out and see my nephew on his birthday. Then back on Sunday and work Monday morning. The sweet thing is that my first weekend back to work will be a long weekend so I won't have to get too used to a 5 day work week :) Iplan to use it to do all the scarpbooking I was going to do this weekend but can't because I'm going to my sister's.
So far today I've done a lot of nothing. I finished typing up my Gospels and Acts notes and I'm going to start on my World Miss notes then I'll be done semester 1!!!!
I think just the fact that I've takenon the endeavour at all shows just how bored I am. I also renewed my driver's licence (which, for all you foreigners, must be done every year in Saskatchewan on the month of your birthday, how lame is that!) and I went to the grocery store for Jam and eggs (that's it, it's all we needed, though I did buy some candy too and some nestea singles sweetened with sucralose. Why bother with the sucralose when you're buying candy? I'm stupid and feebly attemping to loose more weight, emphasis on the feebly). Anyways so ya that's about it.
I bet all you workign people are glaring at the screen right now going "Gee, I wish I could sit on my butt and eat candy all day" - but really it looses it's appeal after awhile and if you saw the size of my butt you would not covet me. But seriously I'm doing pretty good. I've lost almost 40 pounds since new years. Here's I'll show you some pics - though they are not as impressive as on Dr. Phil or something.

Okay I couldn't get them to work. I'll get Jesse to help me and I'll post them later today. Like I said, blog illiterate, but I know I've done it before? Niki you do this all time what am I doing wrong?

Anyways that's all for now because this is bugging me.
Ciao

Wow, Do I Ever Shut Up?

I know I know. So long between blogs. I've been reading other people's blogs on a daily basis (thanks Niki, Ken, Darrell, and Scott Adams the creator of Dilbert for blogging faithfully) and it's weird because I realized that I feel in touch with these people because I read what's going on in their lives (especially Nix, you sometimes blog 2-3 times a day) but you all have not heard from me at all and have no idea I've been reading your blogs and that I know what's happening and you definitely have no idea what's happening with me. Heck sometimes even my friends here in the city have no idea what's going on. I'll go weeks without talking to Jill and she lives across the back alley and I was maid of honour in her wedding this summer.

I guess that's the first major thing that I did this summer was be in Jill's wedding. I'd never been in a wedding before (that wasn't mine) and it's so different from that side. The whole thing went well and she looked great and they got married, but it made me appreciate my own wedding because we did a lot of things very differently. Don't all you married people ever just want to do the whole wedding thing over again? I mean now that we're married what's there to look forward to? No more diamonds, no more fancy dresses, no more presents (I would register for way better stuff now than I did then). I guess eventually everyone expects us to have kids (yes eventually, as in not any time soon so don't ask) but I mean whoo hoo - what's a pristine white dress, great flowers, and a party with all your friends and family compared to squeezing a small bloody human the size of a football out of an opening the size of a peach pit - what a great day!
Wow I'm ranting now. Back on track.

After Jill's wedding I went to Minot, North Dakota with my mom for a few day and did some shopping which was lots of fun. Then Leanne and Andrew stayed with us for a couple days so we got to see them for a bit outside of a wedding situation (which doesn't happen often). That was great, I really like Leandrew I just wish they lived closer (stupid Winnipeg).
Let's see other than that I did a week of day camp for the city and worked for my dad's BBQ business a couple times. I was supposed to help him with a catering function last weekend (which was my birthday by the way) but I got the flu and couldn't go which sucks because not only did I spend my birthday puking but I missed out on probably $100 worth of wages that we definitely could have used.

But I start my new job on Monday so then we'll have a little more money. Though we still have to pay Jesse's tuition and start making student loan payments (ouch..why did I go to school again? 4 years for nothing). Anyway I'm excited about my new job. I'm working for Sask Drama again (if any of you remember my blogs from last summer) this time as their Administrative Assistant. It's pretty sweet, 9-5, mon-fri, Salary (which works out to about 10.50/hour), holidays off. I'm really psyched about it. Plus I've already worked there which means I can avoid the whole stupid I don't know what I'm doing, where I'm going, or what anybody's name is phase of a new job. I'm loving it. I just hope I love the actual work, I'm really going to try.

I know this blog is long but bear with me. I haven't spoken to you all in months. If you have to take a break, get a cookie.....feel better? good let's keep going.

Let's see. Did I mention that I had a birthday? Well I did, last Friday. Because of Jesse's work schedule we had the party of Thurday which worked out great with my pukiness. It was kinda a surprise, we went over to Jill's (and Jordon's I guess too, but he wasn't there he's back on the rigs) for a BBQ with J and Ethan. It was nice, we don't hang out with our friends enough. I also got flowers, a new electric carpet sweeper (I really wanted it, it's called a Shark and it's amazing, get one, my house has never looked cleaner), an awesome braclet from Jill that she bought me in Mexico on their honeymoon, and letter stamps for J and Ethan for my scrapbooking (which I must say I have become almost obsessive compulsive about, but not nearly as bad as my sister). We also went to Sears and bought the dresser that matches our bed that we have been saving up for all summer.

So what else did I do to fill my time over the summer?
-Well I organized all of our pictures into albums which takes a long time.
-I decided to organize and retype all of my notes from freshman year at CBC. Am I crazy? probably but I was really getting sick of the ripped out notebook pages sticking haphazardly out of the binder that won't fit in the bookself. It'll be nice to have it all organized however after going over my notes I am starting to realize why I only got C+ in Gospels and Acts, my notes suck! Maybe his dreamy voice distracted me.
- I have also been spending a lot of brain time planning my wedding scrapbook which will require printing a lot of pictures and buying a lot of supplies (which I have been picking up as inspiration hits me over the summer), I have taken to scapbooking in my head while I'm tryign to fall asleep. I don't recommend it if sleep is what you're actually aiming for.
- I've also tackled reading the whole Left Behind series, I'm on the 5th or 6th book right now I'm starting to get bored.
As I'm sure you are of my blog. "Who cares?" your starting to say to yourself. So I'll stop. I think maybe I'm just rambling now anyway and nobody asked for a 10 pager. So I'll publish now so that you can all hit me with your barrage of life fulfilling, exhorting and encouraging comments :)

Talk to all later. Ciao

PS: I just realized that some of this post might have have come out sarcastic and a little pessimistic. I really am in a good mood and overall life is great! And I really do want you to comment. Thanks for reading (especially if you made it all the way to the end)

Wow it's been a long time

It's been so long since I blogged that I actually had to open another browser to read my blog as I was typing this to see what I last told you guys. I know I'm the worst blogger ever.
It's been a pretty lazy Sunday so far. Not doing much just making some Chilli and thinking about scrapbooking. Taking a break before I start a new practicum tomorrow. Yes that means I am done classes!!!!! WOO HOO! If I never have to go back to SIAST again it'll be too soon. It sucks because I have managed to work up a strong dislike for both of the post-secondary institutions in Regina. I guess we'll have to move or I'll have to stop going to school.
We'll I start my practicum at the Regina Christian School tomorrow and we'll have to see how that goes. I think it'll either be really great or I'll hate it. We'll see, so far the people seem nice enough but they made me come in to be "approved". It's a practicum people, FREE HELP!!!
Anyways other than that I am looking for a summer job again, which I think I am destined for for the rest of my life. I got a phone call today from the city of Regina about being a program leader for one of their summer programs so that would be great. I just hope they can work out an interview time for me since I can't come in during the day.
Let's see....what else is new....? Well Jesse's parents moved from Vancouver and are staying with the grandparents in Drumheller right now waiting for Natalie (Jesse's brother's wife) to pop out a kid any day now. They are all coming out (the parents and the grandparents, not Natalie and the kid) to visit us on the long weekend which will be okay exept there's nothing to do in Regina and we don't have a big enough apartment for everyone to sit in let alone eat a meal so it might be an interesting weekend.
I just realized as I was thinking of posting pictures and realizing that I don't really have any on my computer (they're all on Jesse's) that I haven't blogged since we gave away the kitten. Yes, we finally found someone to take him and I was sad for a long time after (Jesse had to buy me a slushshake). So here's a picture of him as a tribute.

Bye Bye Baby Kitten :(

Well I think that's everything. I know it's been awhile since I've blocked but what can I say I'm a busy person. I got a comment from my friend Ken, I have to say probably like 2 weeks ago now, saying basically:

Are you ever going to update your blog or what!
All I have to say to that is if you want to know what's going on email me and you could day the same thing to your wife, she hasn't updated since May. (hint, hint, I want to hear from Kathy, but I suppose I could email her too, man am I a hypocrite)

Anyways life is going pretty good. I'm going to SIAST and I had a 6 week practicum before Christmas which was great. Being back at school sucks and I have midterms already this week. We take 5 three credit classes in 9 weeks plus a four day first aid class. I think my brain is going to explode. I am, however, taking some weekends off in the near future. I'm going to my sister's next weekend to watch her two adorable boys and then in February Me and Jesse and our friends J and Ethan are all going on a road trip to this great B&B near valentines day. I'm really looking forward to it eventhough we can't afford it because we got a speeding ticket today :(

So most of my time has been filled with school. I'm doing a behaviour management project where I have to eat the recommended 2-4 servings of fruits and 3-5 servings of veggies per day. That's a lot of roughage. It'll be hard but I'll be healthier because of it. I've really been trying to lose weight lately and I've lost 12 pounds since Christmas which isn't as much as it sounds on a girl my size but I'm still truckin'. Part of the reason I'm losing the weight is because my friend Jill (most of you know Jill) is getting married this summer. It's going to be a headache but I just have to keep reminding myself that it's her day and I'll do whatever she want (even if it means wearing a REALLY expensive ugly dress).

I can't think much of what else is new. We're skipping Young Marrieds small group tonight to go to J and Ethan's for supper. They made peanut gravy (it's supposed to be good) and I'm hungry. So I guess I'll go. Ciao everyone and don't forget to remind me to blog.

Update

Wow it's been forever since I last blogged. Over a month and a half. I should keep you guys more updated. You'd think my job kept me so busy that I couldn't find the time but actually I think that it's that I spend all day typing and I can hardly get myself to do it when I get home.

So on the school front I've applied to SIAST for their Educational Assistant Program. Bascially I'll be a teacher's assistant when I'm done. The only problem is that I've having issues with the fact the gov't is slow and haven't sent them my transcripts yet. So I don't know any information. Their website and calendar say NOTHING. I had to call to find out when the first day of classes was. I don't even know how registration works but I hope I can pre-register because I'm going to miss the first day of school becasue I'll be in Vancouver.

On that note the good news in my life lately is that Jesse's parents have decided to give us our wedding present. A week long cruise to Alaska at the end of August. Woo hoo! I'm so excited. But we're going to be late for school because of how flights worked out and stuff.

Right now I'm watching a great movie on CBC called 'A Bear Named Winnie' . It's about a soldier and the bear that Winnie the Pooh was named after. It's really sweet so far. I want to keep watching it though so I'm going to quit typing now.

Ciao everyone!

I got a job!!!!!

Yes everyone, anything is possible. The hopeless has gotten a job! Finally!
It's full time with the Saskatchewan Drama Association as their summer Library Administrative Assistant. It's only minimum wage but it's 40 hours a week, Mon-Fri, and I don't have a wear a stupid uniform. It's also great because I'm thinking about not going to the university in the fall and just doing a quick Office Ed. program at Siast so that I can work while Jesse goes to school. So this office job will help me decide if I want to do that. What do you guys think?
Well we're going for pizza so I gotta go. Ciao.

Boring Saturday

Hey Y'all
Just another boring Saturday. Not doing much. My mouth tastes like Peanut Butter. Mmmmm.
I need something fun to do today. Maybe I should sit around and do hemp necklaces. I'm making as many as I can for this Arts fair in a couple of weeks where my friend J and I have a table, she's selling sketches, I'm selling hemp. Hey how much would you pay for a hemp neclace or braclet with wooden beads or sea shells in it? Let me know.
Jesse's Birthday was on wednesday. Everybody got together to buy him a game cube, so what is he doing now? He's on his computer looking up game cube stuff. He's not actually playing the thing. *shakes head*...boys...
Anyway I worked a few shifts at California Fitness now and I'm really enjoying it. I had an interview on tuesday for a job in July/August in Melville (that's where my parents live). It's 6 weeks of organizing a summer program for 30 kids. It sounds like fun but I sure don't want to live in Melville for 6 weeks with my parents and little brother and leave my husband here in Regina. That's gonna suck. So I haven't decided if I'm going to take it yet.
Hey has anyone seen the movie Million Dollar Baby? It's playing at the cheap theatre and I've heard it's good but I can't decide if I really want to see it. Someone tell me if it's good or not.
I am so bored, I am so bored, B O R D, B O R D...I mean.. E D.
Well I should go find something to do. I think that we've decided his restlessness and wineyness lately is due to his lack of a nice little female kitty in the house. So our two options are to get a female kitty....ummmm let me think about that one.... NO, or we get him "chopped" if you will. We're hoping it will calm him down a bit. But I guess that if we're going to shell out 80 bucks for kitty surgury then we've decided to keep him for the time being anyways. So if you want him you gotta claim him before this weekend when we're hoping to get him in to the vet.

I just wanted to add that I am currently listening to the artistic stylings of the Simpson sisters (Jessica and Ashley that is) and I am rather enjoying it today. It's good music to clean house to and boy have I been cleaning today. I still need to tidy the bedroom, vaccuum, and few other things but then the house is going to be spotless. Oooh, here's some Christina Aguilera, I've got lots of good stuff on this playlist. "La la... Stronger...la la....Thanks for making me a fighter!....lala". Yah I realize that I'm a geek but what do you expect from me? I'm in the house all day by myself. Mmmmm...my hands smell like bathroom cleaner and moisturizer. Yah. Ooooh, now I'm listening to Theresa Sokyrka, some of her good stuff right off the show. You all don't care about this. I'm just procrastinating going back to my cleaning. Maybe I'll vaccum tomorrow. I'm been saying that for days. I could be mean and ask Jesse to do it when he gets home from work. Yah I know, not fair. I'll go do it, you twisted my arm.

Ciao

Ahhh, Employment :)

I have a job! Yah! Well kinda a job. It's a casual position at California Fitness (all 3 locations in Regina) working for their babysitting service. So it's minimum wage and usually 0-15 hours per week approx. So it's not much of a job but it gives me a reason to leave the house occasionally and make a little bit more money than what we had. I'm still going to keep looking for something more substantial but a bit of the pressure is off now. Yah.
The sucky thing is that there is no one around here to tell. Jesse is at work for 4 more hours and Jill doesn't work today and seeing as it's before 2pm she is, of course, still sleeping. How can that girl sleep so much? I mean I like sleep as much as the next guy but 12 hours at a time on a regualar basis is ridiculous! Maybe I would sleep that much too if my kitten didn't believe that I should always be up by 7:30 in the morning. Stupid Kitten! Hey anyone want a free cat? I'm serious, he come with food and litter and toys and everything. Let me know okay. I think we've decided we're more like hamster people at least for the time being. Seriously, I'm not joking if you want him he's yours.
Well now that I'm totally off topic I'm going to go eat lunch.
Ciao.

classes and jobs

So I am now officially registered and declared in the Bachelors of Arts with a major in Psychology and double minor in religious studies and sociology. I had an advisory meeting today and it went well except that I have now way more religious studies classes than I need on western religions (aka Christianity) and not enough on eastern religions. But whatever.

I'm kinda tired right now so sorry if my paragraphs are kinda choppy and nonsensical.

I also have a job interview tomorrow at California Fitness for their babysitting service. I hope I get just cause I know that if I stay home too long I won't want to work anymore.

I'm watching Pimp my Ride right now. By brain has officially stopped working.

Talk to y'all later.

So much has happend in the last few days that I don't even know what to write. I actually wanted to start off this Blog with something witty and funny but I couldn't think of anything. So you get this:
Why did the robot cross the road?
It was carbon bonded to the chicken! hahaha

Anyway now that the comic relief is out of the way I might as well let you all know that I got my rejection letter from the Faculty of Education yesterday. That's the second year in a row now. Not even waitlisted. I guess I'm not going to be a teacher. (Jesse's mad at me because I just told him to stop yelling at his computer and go to bed). I must admit that I'm getting really sick of the rejection again. But on I go to try something new again. For some reason I'm feeling led to major in Psychology which is weird because I've never even taken a psych class. So as of next monday when I have a meeting with my advisor I'll be majoring in Pysch with a double minor in sociology and religious studies. Where did that come from? I'm excited about starting something new but I can't help but feel stupid and incompetent. I mean I have 3 years of camp experience including program directing, I was on student council, I'm a saskatchewan resident, I gradutated from CBC with honours, and I currently have an average of about %84 and I can't even get into the Education program when little kids, fresh out of high school, who are doing it because they don't know anything else are getting in no problem. I just don't get it. It took me years to finally take the leap and decide what I wanted to do and now I can't do it and I find that very frustrating. I can't even get a job for goodness sake. I don't get it.
Somebody please validate me!

Okay I'm done complaining. For now. I don't want my blog to become a negative, complainy space. Today I watched Hope Floats, that is a good movie. If you haven't seen it you should. Also listen to the credit song by Garth Brooks "To make you feel my love", one of the best songs ever written. I watch a lot of tv when I'm home all day. Right now I'm watching a show on much music about JLo. It's pretty good.
I bought the Theresa Sokyrka CD the other day. I wouldn't recommend it. I mean I like her but half the CD is bad covers of songs she sang on Canadian Idol and she does her little skat thing in like every song. Some of the songs are decent but they are downloaders not buyers. If any of you want to hear it you have to come to Regina and visit me in person. I like visitors.

Anyways its like quarter to midnight here. I should stop for now. Have a good night everyone.

Canadian Tire 2

My Baby got a job!!!!!!!!

Monday - Friday
8-5

Praise God

Canadian Tire

Guess what everyone!!!!
Jesse has an interview at Canadian Tire today. WooHooo. I mean it's not really an ideal job but it's great to have something. Hopefully it works out well and they pay him decently. I've also applyed for some jobs that I would love to have with a day camp and an insurance office. So if everyone would keep praying for us that would be great. We really appreciate it. Pray for jobs that pay well and that we enjoy doing. Thanks everyone.

Other than that nothing is new. We made cupcakes yesterday with the rainbow sprinkles in, they were on sale at Safeway 2 for 1.
Oh, is anyone else totally shocked that Constantine got kicked off American Idol yesterday????? I could not believe it! I mean he wasn't the best one on there but he was way better than Scott and Anthony! I was completely dumbfounded. Well now that you all think I'm a loser I can say that as long as Stephanie wins Survivor all will be well in tv land :)

I went and got my rings cleaned yesterday at Peoples and they are really shiney now. I like that. Jesse went in to get his ring resized (because we have both been loosing weight despite the cupcakes) and they were going to charge us for it because they've changed their policy. I was about to get mad but then they said that since we bought it before they changed their policy that they would do it for free, so that was good.

I went to go buy vegetables yesterday and I can't believe how expensive they are. It's two dollars for a head of lettuce right now. Only bananas and oranges are under a dollar a pound. It's ridiculous. I guess we're just going to have to risk scurvy until we get jobs :)

I think I'm really rambling about nothing now. I have a tendancy to do this a lot. Maybe I'll go watch a movie. I borrowed Drumline from my friend Charity, I've heard it's good. Maybe I'll watch Anne of Green Gables the sequel. I don't know.
Ciao

Feeling Better

So I took my final and I think I did okay. Since then I've also eaten some subway (mmmmm.....subway), taken a bath and washed my hair, and taken the best nap I've ever had in my entire life. It was the perfect darkness, the perfect temperature, and I swear my bed has never felt so comfy before. Needless to say I'm feeling a little bit better than I was at 4 o'clock this morning. Man, was I frustrated. But I think the difference is that I've now eaten, slept, and kinda feel like a normal person again. I was very tired this morning and building it up in my head. So please don't anyone freak out and call me a heathen or anything. God and I will work things out okay I'm sure. Well I should go make some dinner mmmmmm.....chicken. :)

4:11am can you believe this?

Okay, everyone who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown say Aie.

AIE!!!!!

It is 4 o'clock in the morning I have got a total of 1 hours sleep and I have a HUGE final in about 5 hours. I just can't sleep. I am so stressed right now that it takes everything I have to not just sit in the middle of the floor and cry and scream but my husband finally got to sleep and he has a final too so I'm trying not to wake him. The stupid cat has been into everything that he's not supposed to and been making as much noise as possible all night long. We've sprayed him, thrown him in the shower, hit him, yelled at him and he will not sit still and let us sleep. I can't take this anymore. I am going to freak out. I've been asking God to help me out here for the sake of my sanity and a class that I have worked REALLY hard all semester to get a good grade in but surprise surprise no help there. I have been seeing this trend from him lately and all I keep getting is "trust me and I will help you". Bull Shit! This really tops it God. You expect me to have faith now when everytime I try you just kick me down farther. How's the weather out there? Really how is it I want to know? The reason for this particular posting is that I want to tell you all that I like it when you leave comments. I like to know that people are reading this and that I'm not writing online just so that I don't have to go out and buy pink paper to write on. So talk to me! please! And thank you to Kenny and Becca for already commenting for me, I really appreciate your prayers.

On a new note, my husband just got mad at me becasue I did all the puzzles on the back of the Cap'n Crunch box. I think that if he can't get out of bed in time to claim them then they are fair game . . . get it fair "game"? I crack myself up :)

Well I've gotta go study. It is now Saturday night at about 6 pm and I haven't really started studying yet. AHHHHHH!!!!

But I just can't get myself to do it. This is my 4th and last final for the semester and I just finished a marathon of 3 finals in 3 days and my brain won't take it anymore. I find myself sitting here on the couch trying to absorb the twisted workings of Hinduism but I am drawn to that stupid episode of Simpsons where Bart joins a boy band that propagates the navy. Did you know that Global plays like 5 episodes of Simpsons in a row on Saturday afternoons? How am I supposed to resist that? I am so sick of school.

I wish I just knew if I was actually going to get into the Education program. I might not even need these classes. I hope I get in. Please pray for me.

Does anyone else wish that they could go back to being 10 years old where your biggest problem was whether your Mom was going to make you bring your little brother to the mall with you or whether you get to the swings first at recess. Maybe that's why I want to be a teacher so that I can indulge in the childish life again for a little bit of every day. Oh well. A year ago I would have never ever wanted my name or my thoughts to be associated the colour pink. It is even somewhat surprising to me how much I'm enjoying the colour, weird eh?

I think that being married has changed me. Perhaps living with a boy has given me a new appreciation for all things girly. When I was living in the dorms it was like girl overload and now I get the chance to explore the girliness in my life at a safe level. I even wear nail polish now.

I'm also branching out into buying clothes that are not blue all the time. It's a conscious decision on my part but I have learned to appreciate it.

Go Pink!

My first Blog

Hey everyone! This is my first blog. I don't know why I'm doing this just bored I guess and need something to do on my computer. It was actually inspired by my friend Darrell who has been doing one for a few weeks now and I found myself really interested in reading whatever he was going to choose to write that day, so I figured maybe people might want to know what I have to say about life too.

So here I go. Life sucks!

Okay so maybe life doesn't suck because God doesn't make things that suck, well except vacuum cleaners and black holes stuff that actually physically does suck. What I'm saying is that life is not always fun and right now is one of these times. My husband Jesse and I have been trying for months to get a job for the summer, we started applying before anyone else we know and yet the semester is over and still...no jobs. It's been really hard because we've applied for so many that we were totally over qualified for and we always get the same answer: we considered you, you were really good, but we chose someone else. What's with that? Is there something wrong with us. I'm incredibly frustrated here. I mean how much rejection can a person take? I know that we'll be okay, we have family and we got a huge income tax return. God does provide, it's just frustrating.

Well that's it my first online complaint. Look forward to many more that I'm sure are coming.
Peace
